Azure Systems Administrator (Mid-Level)

Location: Minneapolis, MN (Onsite)
Type: Contract-to-Hire
Compensation: Up to $110,000 annually upon conversion
Contract Rate: $50-$53/hr W2 (depending on experience)
Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Position Overview

We are seeking a Mid-Level Azure Systems Administrator to support and maintain a Microsoft-based enterprise environment. This role will be responsible for administering Azure infrastructure, Microsoft 365 services, Windows Server environments, and enterprise identity management. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting cloud and on-premises systems while ensuring security, performance, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and support Microsoft Azure infrastructure, including virtual machines, storage, networking, and resource management.
  • Manage Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive.
  • Maintain and support Active Directory, Azure Active Directory (Entra ID), Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Windows Server environments.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and security using Microsoft and third-party monitoring tools.
  • Support hybrid cloud environments and assist with cloud migration initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure, networking, authentication, and end-user system issues.
  • Implement and maintain security best practices, access controls, and conditional access policies.
  • Perform system upgrades, patching, backup management, and disaster recovery activities.
  • Automate routine administrative tasks using PowerShell.
  • Collaborate with IT teams on infrastructure projects, deployments, and ongoing improvements.

Required Qualifications

  • 3-6 years of Systems Administration experience.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure administration.
  • Strong experience supporting Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Experience with Active Directory, Entra ID (Azure AD), and Windows Server.
  • Knowledge of DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VPNs, and networking fundamentals.
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) certification.
  • Experience with Intune and endpoint management.
  • Experience supporting VMware or Hyper-V environments.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Defender, Conditional Access, and security best practices.
  • Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions.
